Supporting Every Step of Your EUonAIR Journey

The EUonAIR’s Holistic Mobility Support Centre is designed to provide comprehensive support and assistance to individuals engaged in international mobility experiences, such as students, educators, researchers, and staff. This also includes the option for an assessment of human resources which constitute a novel approach for European University Initiative Most importantly, this structure aims to provide students with several services and support.

This includes:

  • practical services - pre-departure guidance; cultural orientations; mobility budget management; accommodation; reintegration after return
  • counselling and assessment services - offering counselling services to help participants align their international experiences with their career goals; facilitating networking events and connect participants with alumni who have had successful international careers; and assessing their human resources upon return mobility and mobility social and cultural remittances.

These services will support the objective of this alliance to promote and significantly increase inclusive and high-quality (return) mobility (both virtual, blended, and physical) of students and staff, empowering them to develop the competencies required for the twin transition of all student and staff groups regardless of their background, circumstances or ability.

EUonAIR’s Return Mobility Assessment Unit is a very important part of this inter-university collaborative structure. It is designed to assist individuals who are returning to their home country or community after a period of mobility, such as studying abroad, working in another country, or participating in an international program.

The Return Mobility Assessment Unit

Supporting Reintegration and Recognizing Mobility Gains

The unit aims to facilitate a smooth transition and help individuals integrate back into their home environment and to assess the mobility gains towards making their educational and occupational careers meaningful. The Return Mobility Assessment Unit will offer support such as: reintegration counselling services to help individuals cope with the challenges of returning home, conducting assessments to identify opportunities in their host location and assisting individuals in mapping their international experiences to specific competencies valued in the job market or academic settings.

Recognizing Skills, Rebuilding Connections

The Unit will also facilitate networking events and activities to connect returnees with fellow alumni, professionals, and organizations by organizing workshops to help individuals engage with their local community and become active participants; creating peer support groups where returnees can share experiences, stories and support one another. The assessments of holistic human resources comprising of human capital (formal and informal), psychological capital (with special focus on resilience, reflexivity), social capital (with special focus on perceived social support), economic capital (financial literacy, future career and retirement) will be performed to identify and recognize the skills and competencies acquired during the international experience and mapping their international experiences to specific competencies valued in the job market or academic settings.
