EUonAIR Annual Conference in Zagreb to Bring Together Leaders in AI, Education, and Business

July 6–7, 2026

On July 6–7, 2026, the EUonAIR Annual Conference will take place in Zagreb, bringing together students, academics, business representatives, policymakers, and EUonAIR partners for two days of dialogue on the future of artificial intelligence and its impact on education, organisations, and society.

As the flagship annual event of the EUonAIR European University Alliance, the conference will provide a platform to present key project results, showcase progress across the alliance, and foster exchange between stakeholders from across Europe and beyond. The programme will highlight EUonAIR’s work on responsible and human-centred AI, with sessions dedicated to education, open research and innovation, AI-assisted mobility, impact and dissemination, and the development of MyAI University.

This year’s programme features two distinguished Nobel Laureates, further highlighting the international significance of the event:

John Martinis, current Nobel Laureate in Physics, is a leading figure in the development of superconducting qubits and quantum computing architectures, including work that enabled major breakthroughs such as quantum supremacy. His research directly relates to the future computational foundations of AI, aligning with EUonAIR’s focus on next-generation technologies and AI-driven innovation.

Joel Mokyr, current Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences Laureate, is renowned for his work on the historical dynamics of technological change, knowledge diffusion, and innovation-driven growth. His research provides a critical framework for understanding how technologies like AI reshape economies, institutions, and education systems, which lies at the core of EUonAIR’s mission.

Their participation positions the conference within a broader, interdisciplinary dialogue on AI, innovation, and societal transformation, closely aligned with EUonAIR’s mission.

The EUonAIR Annual Conference reflects the alliance’s mission to strengthen European collaboration and help shape an AI-enabled future that is innovative, inclusive, and grounded in responsibility.
