Universitat CEU Abat Oliba Presents the European Project EUonAIR at the Smart City Expo World Congress

November 4–6, 2025

Universitat CEU Abat Oliba took part in the 2025 edition of the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona with a presentation given by Swen Seebach, Vice-Rector for Quality Assurance, University Strategy and Internationalisation, and co-leader of the European project EUonAIR.

Under the title “Smart Universities for Smart Cities: EUonAIR, a project for knowledge transfer in the areas of artificial intelligence, smart cities, and living labs”, Seebach highlighted the essential role of universities in building smarter, more sustainable, and more human cities. During his presentation, he shared how CEU UAO, through the European alliance EUonAIR, fosters the connection between education, research, and society—integrating responsible artificial intelligence and technological innovation into urban ecosystems.

Throughout the three days of the congress, CEU UAO’s participation also represented a valuable opportunity to establish initial contacts with national and international stakeholders such as municipalities, research institutes, living labs, and technology companies, with the aim of exploring synergies and future collaborations within the framework of the EUonAIR project.

The participation of Universitat CEU Abat Oliba in the Smart City Expo World Congress 2025 reinforces the university’s commitment to knowledge transfer and international cooperation, contributing to the development of a more ethical, inclusive, and sustainable urban future.
