AI, Smart Cities and the Future of Mobility: EUonAIR at Futures26

On 13 July 2026, as part of Futures26 at the Luxembourg School of Business (LSB), EUonAIR hosted a thought-provoking panel discussion titled "How AI is Contributing to Smart Cities and its Impact on the Mobility of Students, Staff, and Others."

Moderated by Dr. Andrej Bajić, the discussion brought together distinguished experts:

- Barbara Domaradzka, Executive Director of EUonAIR, Kozminski University

- Dr. Swen Seebach, Vice-Rector for Quality, University Strategy and Internationalisation, Abat Oliba CEU University (UAO CEU), and Member of the EUonAIR Management Board

- Magdalena Gawrońska, Manager of the Holistic Mobility Support Center, European University EUonAIR, Kozminski University

The panel explored how artificial intelligence is transforming urban environments and creating new opportunities for smarter, more sustainable, and more inclusive mobility. Discussions highlighted how AI can enhance the experiences of students, staff, and wider communities while strengthening the connection between universities and the cities they serve.

The exchange of ideas reflected EUonAIR's commitment to harnessing digital innovation to improve mobility across the European Higher Education Area. By bringing together experts from academia and university management, the discussion demonstrated how AI can support more connected campuses, foster international collaboration, and contribute to building resilient, future-oriented university ecosystems.

This panel discussion was organised as part of the activities of EUonAIR Work Packages 5, 6, and 7, contributing to the alliance's objectives of strengthening stakeholder engagement, disseminating project results, fostering innovation, and supporting the long-term impact and sustainability of the European University Initiative.

A sincere thank you to our moderator, panelists, and everyone who joined us for this inspiring discussion. Together, we continue shaping the future of higher education through collaboration, innovation, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence.
