CEU Abat Oliba University Celebrates Europe Day with Focus on EUonAIR and European Opportunities
On May 4, Universitat CEU Abat Oliba celebrated Europe Day with an event dedicated to the European Union and the academic and professional opportunities available within the European context. The initiative was organised in the lead-up to the official Europe Day celebrations on May 9.
The event opened with welcoming remarks from Swen Seebach, who highlighted the importance of European cooperation, internationalisation, and student engagement.
The programme continued with a presentation of the EUonAIR European University Alliance, outlining its mission, strategic objectives, and the initiatives currently being developed at CEU UAO. Speakers emphasised the alliance’s role in promoting student mobility, collaborative research, and the development of MyAI University, a digital and borderless campus platform designed to strengthen European higher education cooperation.
The session also introduced the activities of the EUonAIR Student Board and presented opportunities available to students within the alliance. In addition, participants learned about EUonAIR’s growing international visibility through its participation in events such as the Smart City Expo World Congress.
The event further featured a presentation of the UNICAT Ambassador Programme by Martina Nadal and Julia Bagués, focusing on European career pathways and employment opportunities connected to European Union institutions and initiatives.
The programme concluded with a roundtable discussion on the European Union featuring experts Juan Corona, Ada Garriga, and Francisco Villacampa. The discussion explored the functioning of the European Union, current challenges, and future perspectives, while encouraging active student participation and debate.
Through this Europe Day initiative, CEU UAO and EUonAIR reaffirmed their commitment to European education, internationalisation, and student employability, strengthening connections between higher education and the wider European academic and professional landscape.
