EUonAIR closes 2025 with three strategic MoUs strengthening the Smart & Green UniverCities ecosystem

EUonAIR closes 2025 with three strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed with key innovation stakeholders based in the cities of partner universities: @Citilab (Cornellà–Barcelona) in collaboration with @Universitat Abat Oliba CEU, @TUBÀ (Lyon) with @ESSCA, and @Lugano Living Lab (Lugano) with @SUPSI. These agreements strengthen long-term international collaboration between universities and their local urban ecosystems, reinforcing the alliance’s commitment to connecting higher education, cities, and society within the Smart & Green UniverCities framework.

As urban innovation hubs, these living labs play a key role in connecting academia, public institutions, industry, and citizens. They provide real-life environments to test, co-create, and validate solutions related to responsible AI, sustainability, and smart city challenges. Through these partnerships, EUonAIR will develop joint activities such as innovation challenges, student and researcher engagement, pilot projects, and knowledge-transfer initiatives that link education and research with real urban needs.

Together, these MoUs lay the foundation for a shared European ecosystem where cities and universities collaborate to design more sustainable, inclusive, and human-centred urban futures.
