EUonAIR Open Innovation Challenge 2025: Winning Teams Announced
The Program Committee of the EUonAIR Open Innovation Challenge 2025 has announced the winning teams of this year’s competition, which invited students and researchers across the alliance to develop working artificial intelligence prototypes that are responsible by design.
The challenge attracted strong engagement from the EUonAIR community. In total, 12 teams submitted proposals, involving more than 30 students and researchers from six EUonAIR partner institutions. Participants competed to develop innovative AI solutions while integrating principles of responsible and human-centred AI.
After careful evaluation, the Program Committee selected three winning projects:
- FrameShield AI
Josip Tomašković, Enrino Škiljan, Zagreb School of Economics and Management (ZSEM)
2.AI-Scaffold: Education-Oriented Disinformation Defense
Jakub Krzysztof Piech, Arkadiusz Modzelewski, Witold Sosnowski, Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology (PJAIT)
3.Nebulo
Marco De Martino, Francesco Salvatore, Luca Enrico Spallino, Federico Emanuele Mameo, SUPSI – University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland
Each winning team will receive €500 in micro-funding and six months of mentorship from EUonAIR senior researchers, supporting further development of their prototypes and helping transform their ideas into practical solutions.
The EUonAIR Open Innovation Challenge is designed to encourage experimentation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and responsible AI innovation across the alliance. By supporting student- and researcher-led projects, the initiative contributes to EUonAIR’s broader mission of advancing human-centred artificial intelligence in education, research, and society.
Congratulations to all winning teams and participants who contributed to the success of the EUonAIR Open Innovation Challenge 2025.
