The Holistic Mobility Support Center had the pleasure of meeting with Hebei University from China. We had the opportunity to discuss what mobility looks like in Europe and to present the actions we are undertaking within the EUonAIR alliance.
EUonAIR shared its vision and ongoing initiatives related to academic mobility. We demonstrated that, for us, mobility is not just a trip abroad. It is a strategically planned cycle of learning, competence development, and career building — one that begins before departure, continues during the stay abroad, and culminates after returning, when participants are able to integrate their experiences into their professional and personal lives.
How do we make it happen?
Within EUonAIR, we established the Holistic Mobility Support Center — a structure designed to support mobility at every stage of the journey. Our core activities include:
✅ Return Mobility Assessment Unit – an innovative solution that supports participants in reflecting on what they have learned, which skills they acquired, and how these can be applied after returning home.
✅ MyMobility.academy Assessment – a digital platform that supports learning, career guidance, mobility planning, and reintegration into the home university.
✅ Hybrid counselling – combining online and on-site support for everything from visa processes and housing, to psychological support and cultural integration.
Our goal is to democratize mobility – to ensure that every student, academic, and staff member, regardless of background, financial situation, or special needs, has the opportunity for a meaningful mobility experience.
We also believe that mobility should be a strategic pillar of institutional development — not just a side program, but a core part of modern, inclusive, and international higher education.
