On this event from the International Smart Cities Network, 21 students embraced the mission of "hacking a city".

The interdisciplinary teams were challenged to develop and present their innovative, data-driven solutions for real urban problems. Their ideas were assessed and given feedback by a panel of experts and stakeholders.


ISCN Hackathon Overview

Smart city applications are flourishing in many cities worldwide. With the increased use of sensors, cameras and other data points, researchers, policymakers and students can now use gathered information to effectively influence public policies and development strategies.

On this one-day hybrid event at HTW Berlin, students from HTW and from EUonAIR partners Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences and Abat Oliba CEU University, Barcelona gathered in multi-disciplinary teams and were assigned a challenge with a real-world problem. Drawing on diverse academic backgrounds, students were tasked with proposing innovative, data-driven solutions.
