Summer School hosted by Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences

We are delighted to invite students from our EUonAIR partner institutions to participate in our upcoming Summer School hosted by Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences.

Our Summer School on “Responsible AI: Ethics – Innovation – Practice” brings together advanced Bachelor’s and Master’s students to explore the ethical, societal, and practical dimensions of artificial intelligence. Taking place in Heilbronn, one of Europe’s most dynamic AI hubs, participants will engage in interactive seminars, interdisciplinary teamwork, and practice-oriented field visits.

Programme Structure

The Summer School offers a balanced mix of academic insights and practical experience:

Mornings: Interactive lectures and seminars focusing on the pillars of Responsible AI, AI & ethics, and practical business use cases.

Afternoons: Practice-oriented company visits and field trips allowing students to explore the dynamic AI and business ecosystem of the Heilbronn region.

Exclusive Scholarship for EUonAIR-students

We are pleased to offer a special scholarship of up to €845 exclusively available to EUonAIR-students.

The scholarship includes:

  1. Travel support of up to €250.
  2. Accommodation support of €85 per day for a maximum of 7 days.

To apply for the scholarship, students must submit a short statement (max. 500 words, PDF) explaining their need for financial assistance, along with a copy of their student ID or proof of institutional affiliation.

Application & Place Allocation

To ensure a diverse cohort, we will prioritize an equitable distribution of places among all applying partner institutions. However, to help us fill all available spots, we strongly encourage you to nominate or forward applications for all interested students.

We offer flexible ways for your students to apply for the Summer School and the scholarship:

  1. Individual Application: Students can apply directly by sending their documents to us.
  2. Collective Submission: Your institution can collect the applications from interested students and submit them to us collectively in one batch.

To apply, students must provide a one-page CV in English (PDF) including their current GPA, plus a 500-word funding statement if applying for a scholarship. Applications should be sent via email to: juliane.baerwald@hs-heilbronn.de. For collective submissions, please provide the full names and postal and email addresses of the nominated students, together with the required documents (CV and funding statement).

Since the application deadline is 11. May 2026, we highly encourage you to forward this invitation to eligible students at your institution as soon as possible.

Please note that although there is a scheduling overlap, our programme in Heilbronn is a separate event from the EUonAIR AI Summer School hosted by ZSEM in Zagreb from 29. June to 12. July 2026.
