EUonAIR Kick-off Meeting in Warsaw
From May 13–15, Kozminski University hosted the EUonAIR Kick-Off Meeting, marking the official launch of the Alliance with partners and associate members, including International European University.
The opening session featured welcome remarks from:
- Prof. Dr. Hab. Grzegorz Mazurek, Rector of Kozminski University, who emphasized the value of international partnerships in the context of digital transformation.
- Prof. Dr. Hab. Andrzej Szeptycki, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland, who underlined the national significance of EUonAIR.
- A representative of the European Commission, who stressed the Alliance’s strategic importance for building a common European scientific and educational area.
- Prof. Richard Freeman, Professor at Harvard University and EUonAIR Advisory Board Member, who addressed ethical dilemmas and governance issues arising from the misuse of artificial intelligence, showing how AI-driven simulations of group dynamics can support moral reflection and responsible decision-making.
Over the two days, discussions tackled key issues including governance, teaching quality, and impact measurement—setting the groundwork for a collaborative and forward-thinking Alliance. The first day also explored the ethical dimensions of AI, the vision behind the European Universities initiative, and the future of digital education through the MyAI University platform.
Participants had a first look at the prototype of the platform, including a preview of the EUonAIR metaverse campus and the creation of the first professor avatars—laying the foundations for immersive, AI-supported teaching in a virtual environment. The MyMobility Dashboard was also introduced, providing a personalized tool for students, staff, and researchers to explore mobility potential, plan their careers, and foster global networks.
Beyond technological innovation, the Warsaw Kick-Off served to nurture strong relationships among EUonAIR partners, reflect on the future of the Alliance, and ensure a shared commitment to building a smarter, more inclusive, and sustainable model of higher education in Europe.
